The London Search and Rescue team is comprised of highly skilled volunteers trained in Ground Search and Rescue. LSAR assists the London, Strathroy-Caradoc, Aylmer, and St. Thomas Police Services and the OPP in the search and rescue of lost or injured persons across Middlesex County. Members of LSAR have been trained in First Aid, Basic and Advanced Search and Rescue, Rappelling, Rigging-for-Rescue, Man Tracking, Dive rescue and many other areas of expertise to effectively assist on searches. London Search and Rescue also provides a safety program to local primary schools & youth groups, such as Brownie/Scout troops.
"The LSAR team is a completely volunteer organization that will assist in Search and Rescue in London and surrounding area. A friend is a member and with the recent theft of equipment and loss of funding from St. John's Ambulance it would be a terrible loss to the community if they were not able to continue operations. I know if I had a loved one that needed assistance, that having the highly trained volunteers at LSAR helping would defiantly be an asset."
