Chris Billingsley started hockey when he was just 5 years old. He prayed his first game as a forward, but when the coach asked if anyone would like to be a goalie, he knew that was his true calling. His passion for the position stayed with him whenever he played professionally and even when he was the goalie in road hockey for the older kids on his street.
Moving through the ranks, at one point he was considered the number one prospect in by the Ontario Central Scouting ranked. Chris is also familiar with failure and injury. He suffered a major knee injury from playing high school football, which even caused him to miss the OHL draft year.
In the summer of 2018, Chris re-united with his long-time goalie coach, teaching at Jon’s world world renown goalie school with NHL goalies Matt Murray, Mackenzie Blackwood, London Knights star, Joseph Raaymakers and AHL standout, Brandon Halverson.
Chris is a veteran elementary teacher by profession and that helps him to understand the way kids learn. He continues to update his knowledge and skills and learn as much from his students as they do from him.
