Finch Auto Group Advocates Breakfast of Champions

Breakfast of ChampionsFormer NHL Goaltender and Coach Clint Malarchuk Today 1200 people took a seat at the Breakfast of Champions event which was located in the London Convention Centre. This event featured Clink Malarchuk, who was a former NHL goaltender and Coach whose career was nearly cut short by a gruesome on-ice incident that could have costed his life. Clint shared his extraordinary journey from his battle with alcoholism to his ongoing mental health advocacy. The event was organized by St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation and the Middlesex branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association to raise funds to support mental health programs through St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation. Malarchuk played a total of 11 seasons in the NHL for the Quebec Nordiques, Washington Capitals and the Buffalo Sabres. In 1989 that all changed when he survived an on-ice incident when another player's skate blade accidentally cut his carotid artery. After his injury he was back on the ice ten days later but still experienced post-traumatic stress disorder from the near death injury. Finch Auto Group was a premiere sponsor of the event and we were fortunate to have all of the Managing Partners of our four London stores in attendance as well as our President, Ryan Finch, Chief Operating Officer, Rob MacLachlan and some additional management from across our London dealerships. Together the team took part in an event that would move one-step closer to the global advocacy of mental health awareness!
