This past weekend (Saturday, December 12th and Sunday, December 13th), members of the Finch Chev team set up in front of the Real Canadian Superstore at the corner of Hyde Park and Oxford to solicit donations for the Business Cares Food Drive.
Over the course of the weekend 16 staff volunteers helped out by asking shoppers to fill up bags of food to be donated to the London Food Bank. While we were quite confident that we'd get a great response from the community, the actual response was far more overwhelming. We couldn't believe how many Londoners were happy to donate bags of food and even their hard-earned cash to the cause!
In the end, we were able to load up 8 pickup trucks FULL of food, tipping the scales at a staggering 8,300 lbs of food donated to London Food Bank from those two days alone!
On behalf of the whole team at Finch Chevrolet, we truly feel that the entire London community should be incredibly proud of the way that they stepped up to support this great cause. We've always known that we live and work in the greatest community in the world, and this weekend really reinforced that notion.
Meanwhile, our Food Drive campaign is still ongoing. If you weren't able to come out to support us this past weekend, there is still time to donate some groceries to help feed the hungry this holiday season.
