The evening of October 21st marked the kickoff for one of London's fastest growing charity campaigns, Bust-a-Move for Breast Health. On hand at the kickoff event held at Jim Bob Ray's in downtown London were hundreds of enthusiastic participants (both female and male), all eager to start having fun and raising funds for the St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation's Breast Care Program. Among the eager participants was Finch Auto Group President Ryan Finch, who was also looking forward to the role that he felt privileged to play on this fantastic evening.
Ryan was on hand to make an exciting announcement that will undoubtedly lead to a strong rise in fundraising dollars for the program's 2014-15 campaign. Ryan was called up on-stage to announce that London's Finch Auto Group will be donating a car to this year's Bust-a-Move campaign to be raffled off by all of the participants. In the end, one lucky winner will be given their choice of a 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class from Mercedes-Benz London, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 from Finch Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC, a 2015 Jeep Wrangler from Finch Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram or a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe from Finch Hyundai!
As Ryan mentions in the video above, the Finch Auto Group has always had a strong commitment to giving back to the community that supports us. We've lent our support to a wide variety of local causes, including (but certainly not limited to) our recent sponsorship of 100 Who Care London. Finch Auto Group has also been privileged to have worked with an entire generation of local students raising funds for Cancer research by donating vehicles annually to the Saunders Secondary School Cancer Campaign (beginning way back in 2004) and, most recently, to the Banting Secondary School Relay for Life campaign!
The Finch Auto Group began their involvement with Bust-a-Move London last year when a FINCH-Tastic team comprised of employees from all four of the Group's London stores enthusiastically joined up for this great cause. The team was immediately swept up in all of the excitement that surrounds the event and they were able to finish as one of the top-5 fundraising teams in all of London!
Of course, the FINCH-Tastics motivations were always driven by their desire to help out a great cause that contributes to Breast Cancer research and helps to fund care for the many women who are afflicted with this disease. As a result, when the team's members identified an opportunity for the Finch Auto Group to help take Bust-a-Move London's fundraising efforts to the next level, they acted quickly. They put together a pitch presentation for Ryan and his partners at the London Finch dealerships that was unanimously well-received. Less than a week later, Ryan found himself on-stage at the kickoff event announcing this exciting initiative to a large group of enthusiastic participants.
Last year, Bust-a-Move London was comprised of over 350 participants who combined to raise over $500,000 which, when matched dollar-for-dollar by London's Norton & Lucille Wolf Foundation, contributed over $1 million to the Breast Care Centre at St. Joseph's Hospital. This year, program chair Sally Aarssen announced that they are hoping to have over 400 participants for the main event which is slated for March 28, 2015.
With a growing crop of participants and some help from Finch Auto Group, there is plenty of reason to believe that this year's Bust-a-Move event can easily eclipse the tremendous success that they've experienced in the past few years. Frankly, we are just honoured to be a part of this inspirational and ever-growing campaign!
