Conquering Cancer with Saunders and Banting

For the past decade, London's Saunders Secondary School has set an incredibly high standard through their annual fundraising campaign with funds benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society. As the most successful high school fundraising campaign in Ontario, Saunders' Cancer Campaign has continued to grow in terms of exposure and funds year after year. In 2012, Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School got into the act as well, and the results were very inspiring.

By donating a brand new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic (courtesy of Finch Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC) to be raffled off in the Banting Campaign as well as a 2012 Hyundai Accent (courtesy of Finch Hyundai) to be raffled off by Saunders, Finch was able to provide a major contribution to two very successful fundraising campaigns.

Combined, the two schools raised well over $140,000 for the Canadian Cancer Campaign, with Banting finishing up with over $95,000 through their various fundraising efforts.

Having assisted the Saunders Cancer Campaign with the donation of a car since 2004, Finch has played a major role in the success experienced by the record-breaking Cancer Campaign. As a graduate of Saunders Secondary School, Ryan Finch - the President of Finch Automotive Group - didn’t hesitate when he was initially asked to lend assistance to the fundraising campaign: “I went to Saunders and this cause really hit home, so I was happy to get involved when they approached me about the idea.” Ryan’s deep emotional connection to the cause has provided additional meaning to the dealership’s donations: “My grandmother died of cancer. My aunt also died of it at the age of 54. It’s a horrible disease.

Since 2004, the fundraising efforts put forth have been consistently incredible:

Finch looks forward to the future of these fundraising campaign as we hope to continue to assist as the bar gets push the bar higher and higher in the fight against this horrible disease.
