The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Highlights

Rush-Inducing Technology
It isn't just a question of the 0-100 km acceleration or horsepower ratings that will fill you with a sense of anticipation every time you get behind the wheel of a Camaro. It's also a matter of the feeling this performance technology and bold design produces. Motor Trend summed up its assessment of this driving experience in a single word: "wow." Here are some of the features that will increase your wow factor.
Performance Is Also Measured In L/100 Km
Times change. And Camaro has led the way in evolving the sports car for today's world. That begins with fuel-efficient performance — the best of both worlds. You get the power you crave from the standard 3.6L V6 engine. The output is an inspiring 323 hp — the fuel efficiency is equally impressive, thanks to such engineering advances as Direct Injection and Variable Valve Timing (VVT). The results speak for themselves, with a 6.6 L/100 km highway fuel consumption rating.1 Proving that with Camaro, you can have your cake and eat it too.
Addition By Subtraction
Take everything there is to love about Camaro. Subtract roof. And add a pure open-air driving experience. That pretty well sums up the excitement generated by last year's introduction of the Camaro Convertible. There are two models — and two brands of performance available. LT models deliver the fuel-efficient performance of the 323 hp 3.6L V6. For the ultimate in top-down elation, there's the V8-powered Camaro Convertible SS. 426 hp2 + unlimited headroom = maximum joy.
Accelerate — Exhilarate
Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. Channel your inner test driver. Camaro SS has what it takes to set the pace, with a sparkling 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) time of just 5.3 seconds in GM testing. That time is made possible by the aptly named High Output 6.2L V8 engine that generates an awesome 426 hp.2 As fast as the SS can take you off the line, its massive four-piston Brembo® performance brakes bring you to an assured stop. The cornering capabilities are also top drawer thanks to features like a Performance Suspension that includes a multi-link independent rear suspension with progressive-rate coil springs over shocks.
Give Yourself A Heads-Up
Camaro takes the sports car into the Information Age with ongoing monitoring of vital vehicle functions including tire pressure on the standard Driver Information Centre. You can also access diagnostic information through the standard OnStar® system that includes six months of the Directions & Connections Plan featuring Turn-by-Turn Navigation and the OnStar RemoteLinkTM mobile app for iPhone® and select AndroidTM phones. Camaro 2LT and 2SS models take the concept to another level with Head-Up Display (HUD) instrumentation that projects data such as vehicle speed and OnStar® Turn-by-Turn Navigation directions onto the windshield.
Another Form Of Performance
Camaro's definition of performance extends to its sound systems. It's not just the quality of the enhanced 6-speaker audio system (7-speaker on Camaro Convertible) that sets it apart. There's also the choice of formats, with a CD player, MP3 playback and auxiliary audio input jack. An available Wireless Preferred Device Interface Module (PDIM) gives you another source, enabling you to connect and control USB-compatible devices using the standard audio system controls. You can also choose between 130 channels of programming on the standard XM Satellite RadioTM.3 Don't stop there — you can take the audio performance to the next level with the available 9-speaker (8-speaker on Camaro Convertible) 245-Watt Boston Acoustics® premium system. Camaro — the sports car of listening rooms.
