The Convert-A-Cab system transforms Avalanche's cabin from an SUV to a pickup in less than a minute with no tools required. That's thanks to the MidgateTM. It serves as the rear wall of the SUV cabin and folds down to create a cargo box that can carry 4' x 8' sheets of building material with the tailgate closed. Payload capacities extend up to 601 kg (1326 lb.). A series of features make the box easier to load and to secure cargo, with grab handles, a lockable 48 L (1.7 cu. ft.) top box storage compartment, eight cargo tie-downs and a cargo light.
