The Finch Auto Group is involved in dozens and dozens of golf tournaments each spring, summer and autumn as we sponsor the tournaments of a wide array of great local causes. Our involvement in a pair of 2017 Mercedes Trophy tournaments was something quite different.
Mercedes Trophy is an international golf program that was created 28 years ago and 2017 marked the 19th year in which Mercedes-Benz Canada served as one of the 30 participating countries.
As such, Mercedes-Benz Canada is in the process of hosting seventeen invitational golf tournaments across Canada. Each tournament is played using its participants' full handicap, according to the Stableford format. The two overall champions, Gross Stableford and Net Stableford point winners, from each regional tournament are invited to participate in the National Final and the winner of that tournament moves on to the World Finals in Stuttgart, Germany from October 3-8.
Both of the Finch Auto Group's Mercedes-Benz dealerships were honoured to host regional tournament's within the past month as Mercedes-Benz London hosted their tournament on June 15 at Redtail Golf Club in Port Stanley, Ontario while Mercedes-Benz Newmarket hosted their tournament at Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora ON.
The winners of the Mercedes-Benz Newmarket tournament were Jon Drake Jr. and Kevin Beswick while the winners of the Mercedes-Benz London tournament were Justin Wismer and Steve Rucchin. The four gentlemen will be heading to Muskoka from August 28-30 to participate in the Natonal Finals at Oviinbyrd Golf Club. Congratulations, guys! We're sure that you'll make us all proud.
Participating in these two great golf tournaments at a few of Ontario's best courses was truly an unforgettable experience for our teams. The Mercedes-Benz brand continues to develop new and creative ways to interact with their customers and communities and we look forward to continue our involvement in great events like this for many years to come!
