The good news is that even many of the toughest stains have relatively simple hacks that will get your interior back to normal in no time. So the next time you find yourself inflicted with one of the following three tough stains, you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the expert Auto Detail Specialists at the Finch Auto Group prepared you for just such an occasion.

1. Winter Salt Stains

  Winter Salt Stains
As you may or may not be aware, the road salt that is used to dissolve ice in the winter is much different from the salt that you add to your french fries. While table salt is dissoluble, road salt contains table salt in addition to magnesium and calcium carbonate which do NOT dissolve in water. In order to dissolve these compounds, you’ll need to use a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar sprayed over the stain to break down the magnesium and calcium carbonates. When you’ve let the spray sit for a few minutes, you can simply blot out the stain with a damp cloth and spray your favourite-smelling fabric cleaner scent in the car to get rid of the scent of vinegar.

2. Biological Stains

  Biological Stains
People – especially those with young children – know that biological stains like urine, vomit and blood are very real thing. And that they are a very real way to make you lose your appetite. The textures and smells of these types of stains are enough to prevent many people from employing the thorough cleaning methods necessary to get the job done right. Unfortunately time is not on your side once a biological stain strikes as they tend to harden very quickly. According to our experts, the best way to get rid of these stains is to be proactive and act fast to remove blood or urine stains with a mixture of water and dish soap or vomit with a mixture of water and baking soda.

3. Beverage Stains

  Beverage Stains
Busy people know that sometimes your schedule simply demands that you need to multi-task by eating or drinking in the car. If this sounds like you, then it’s likely that you’ve also spilled (or had someone else spill) a drink in your vehicle.
Different beverages require different treatments. For example, coffee stains – whether fresh or old – can be removed with ArmorAll. Many other drinks, such as fruit punch, require a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar to be completely removed.
Finally, milk is one of the absolute toughest stains to get out of your car interior as it requires multiple steps to remove completely. First, our experts suggest you treat the milk stain with a cold water and dish soap mix. Then, once the visible stain has been removed, you’ll ideally want to use a steam-cleaner to get rid of the odor.

Of course, if you’d prefer not to employ the tactics above to remove any stains that you may have in your vehicle, you are more than welcome to bring it to your preferred Finch dealership where your vehicle will receive the expert treatment that it deserves.
